Treasure Ruby Testnet Launch: Portal, EigenLayer and LayerZero
Treasure launches testnet with Treasure Ruby, a new Portal, “Shards”, and major partnerships with EigenLayer, LayerZero, Caldera, and thirdweb.
The Treasure Chain testnet is officially live with the launch of Treasure Ruby, the very first version of our testnet that pays homage to one of our original NFTs launched in 2021 as a free mint.
This marks a massive milestone for Treasure with the chain, accompanying products, exciting new initiatives, and major partnerships setting the stage for a major upgrade to the “decentralized game console”. This brings Treasure one step further in its “Atari” to “SNES” evolution with much further yet to go.
Today, we’re unveiling:
The launch of Treasure Ruby as the v1 testnet
An all new Treasure Portal to discover the testnet through a bridge, explorer, and testnet MAGIC faucet
Partnerships with new friends joining the Treasure ecosystem – EigenLayer, LayerZero, Caldera, Thirdweb, and others.
The beginnings of a testnet-focused quest line with a new “Shards” points system
There’s a lot to cover so let’s dig right in!
Treasure Chain
Announced in early February, the Treasure Chain is a L2 rollup using Arbitrum Orbit technology and EigenDA built for next-gen gaming. The chain forms the base layer underpinning our end-to-end ecosystem of community-owned gaming infrastructure.
Between cutting-edge features like a fully interoperable account system, ecosystem-wide marketplace and orderbook, and a network of app-specific rollups as Infinity Chains, players will be able to glide effortlessly across the network. For game builders, the Treasure Chain is full of connected infrastructure and protocols that accelerate the path to bringing better, novel game experiences on-chain without compromise.
Over time, Treasure will introduce game-specific Infinity Chain L3s built using Arbitrum Orbit and leverage EigenLayer to provide security through MAGIC-ETH staking to this growing network of chains as well as other Actively Validated Services (AVS). Treasure Ruby (Testnet v1)
Treasure Ruby is the first iteration of the Treasure Chain ready for the world to dive in, explore, and, well, try to break things!
The launch of Ruby coincides with the new Treasure Portal as your entry point to discover the Treasure Chain throughout various testnet versions and, eventually, mainnet. Today, the Portal features: (i) a bridge to move your assets to and from the Treasure Chain (initially just Sepolia <> Treasure Ruby with additional networks to be added in the future); (ii) an account page to view your owned tokens and NFTs within the Treasure testnets; (iii) quests to explore our testnet and interact with new features, protocols, and games to come; (iv) faucet to get some testnet $MAGIC every 24 hours to experiment with building on Treasure; and (v) new block explorer to cover the Treasure testnet.
Treasure Ruby Connection Details:

Introducing Key Partners
We’re excited to announce upcoming partnerships with a number of some of web3’s leading protocols to help power our decentralized game console. The TreasureDAO will implement these partnerships through governance.
These partners will enable key components of the vision to further seamless interoperability, extend Ethereum security while enabling greater $MAGIC utility across the network, and provide the most performant, fully featured chain experience for players and builders.
Treasure has partnered with EigenLayer to use EigenDA for data availability as well as explore deeper integrations as we expand our offering of actively validated game services. EigenDA will enable higher throughput at a much lower cost. As EigenLayer’s founder Sreeram Kannan likes to call it, “infinity sum games”. ♾️
The EigenLayer partnership will also enable dual staking of MAGIC and ETH to extend cryptoeconomic security to additional network applications and protocols and offer a vibrant new ecosystem for builders by granting access to the Ethereum staked capital base and decentralized validator set. EigenLayer AVS creates the ability to provide security for cross-chain bridges, oracles, and any other service that requires decentralized validation.
Through LayerZero, the Treasure Chain and our network of Infinity Chains, tokens, and assets will have greatly enhanced interoperability. This will allow for a truly seamless and omnichain experience within Treasure by enabling OFT, ONFT, and OApp support, opening up the door to access liquidity across their network of 50+ connected blockchains.
LayerZero is an interoperability protocol that connects blockchains, allowing developers to build seamless omnichain applications, tokens, and experiences. The protocol relies on immutable on-chain endpoints, a configurable security stack, and a permissionless set of executors to transfer censorship-resistant messages between chains.
We’re proud to have partnered up with the team at Caldera to bootstrap the launch of the Treasure Chain and lean into supporting our L2 developer operations and infrastructure needs. In working with them, we’ve been able to focus on net new innovations and decentralized infrastructure for the Treasure network while continuing to support game builders launch new titles and game-specific L3s as Infinity Chains.
Caldera is a leading Rollup-as-a-Service (RaaS) provider and infrastructure platform enabling new chains to be launched, supported, and scaled with best-in-class developer operations and infrastructure support. Today, Caldera has over 40+ partners and $2B in TVL across supported chains.
Announced in March, Treasure has teamed up with thirdweb to bring web3 development tools to our network of games and offer a new grant program to supercharge game developers. As part of our decentralized game console, our path forward extends beyond just the Treasure Chain as the base layer for the ecosystem. Treasure has been building towards an all-in-one development stack that can integrate the Treasure platform into any game with unified identity and accounts, in-game contract calls, access to our ecosystem-wide orderbook, and much more. All supported by thirdweb’s web3 toolkit and engine.
thirdweb is a full-stack, open-source web3 development platform used by over 70,000 developers every month. With powerful client SDKs to connect users to web3, dedicated APIs for web3 apps and games, and end-to-end tools for smart contracts, thirdweb has emerged as one of the leading development providers in web3.
Shards: New Points System for Testnet
With the launch of Treasure Ruby, we’ve dropped new accompanying quests and a points system called “Shards” that can be collected on the road to the full Treasure Chain launch. Shards are separate from Gems, and will be used to inform future rewards and incentives for early adopters of the chain. Earn Shards by participating in a series of quests on the Portal to discover the Treasure Chain and its features! New quests will be added in upcoming weeks and throughout testnet.
Up Next
With Treasure Ruby launched and in the wild, we’ve turned our attention to:
Developing and expanding the chain’s feature set
Testing for stability, and maximizing performance and security
Rolling out developer tooling to streamline integration and ecosystem onboarding (e.g. Unity/Unreal/Godot/JS TDK) and onboard existing and new game partners to bring their experiences onto the testnet and begin working through migrations
The community can look forward to new iterations of testnet (can you guess the names?) as well as additional quests on the Portal.
All of this will culminate in our official launch on mainnet, targeted for Q3! Stay tuned for more updates along the way.
